ICE Barcelona 2026 Celebrates Industry Legends at Landmark Awards Honouring Decades of Excellence

The global gaming industry came together at ICE Barcelona 2026 to honour longevity, leadership, and lasting impact as the ICE Landmark Awards recognised 15 outstanding companies and individuals for their sustained contributions to the sector.

Unlike traditional competitive awards, the ICE Landmark Awards focus on milestone anniversaries and long-term participation, highlighting organisations and professionals who have helped shape the gaming ecosystem across publishing, technology, legal services, events, and media. The recipients were selected through industry recommendations and the programme is officially endorsed by ICE.

Companies Honoured for Industry Milestones

Several major gaming brands were recognised for reaching significant anniversaries:

  1. Players Publishing marked 15 years of influence as an independent gaming publisher.
  2. GoldenRace celebrated 20 years of innovation in virtual sports and gaming content.
  3. Play’n GO reached its 20-year milestone in online game development.
  4. Novomatic was honoured 45 years after its founding for its global gaming presence.
  5. IGT marked an impressive 50 years in gaming technology.
  6. Global Gaming Expo (G2E) was recognised following its 25th edition in 2025.
  7. Club de Convergentes celebrated 10 years as a key Spanish gaming association.
  8. Asensi Abogados reached 20 years of specialist legal services in the gaming sector.
  9. Electrocoin marked its 50th anniversary tied to the UK and European amusement markets.
  10. Ficom Leisure celebrated 30 years of experience in leisure and gaming operations.
  11. Amusnet was recognised for 10 years of international growth and product innovation.

Individual Leaders Receive Landmark Recognition

The awards also honoured influential individuals whose careers have left a lasting mark on the industry:

  1. Philippe Vlaemminck, Managing Partner at Vlaemminck Law, was recognised for nearly three decades of leadership in gambling regulation.
  2. Carlos Cardama, CEO of GMB Brasil, received recognition for almost 50 years of advocacy in the Latin American gaming market.
  3. Miquel Suqué Mateu, President of Casinos Grup Peralada (1962–2025), was honoured posthumously for his impact on the Spanish and international gaming and hospitality sectors.
  4. Pablo Zuppi, Director at Yogonet Group, received the prestigious David Orrick Award for outstanding contributions to gaming journalism.

Celebrating the Spirit of the Gaming Industry

Speaking at the event, ICE Portfolio Director Margaret Dunn stated that the Landmark Awards celebrate organisations and personalities “setting new standards and inspiring others across the gaming sector.” First introduced at ICE 2019, the awards continue to spotlight excellence across game design, technology innovation, sustainability, safer gambling, and community impact, reinforcing the collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit of the global gaming business.
